Jumpgate Marketing: Practical Guide

Get out the vote
Several sites run hype meters and favorite game voting polls. Please vote for Jumpgate wherever it is listed, and attempt to get it listed where it is not. The list below will be added to whenever we find or are notified of a site where this can be done.

http://mpogd.com
http://www.pvpforums.com/ (Please read rule 20 very carefully.)

Banners
Use the banners on personal websites
Use the banners on websites that players frequent that would host the banner for free
Use the banners as signature files on other forums that players frequent

Banners placed on PvPOnline are not available for re-use. Banners for use are available here: http://forums.jossh.com/showthread....&threadid=21713
Whenever possible, please link back to http://www.themis-group.com/jg. That is the brochure site, and is nicely done.

Posting flyers, handouts, and similar items on college campuses
I think the paramount concern about the posting of ads is that the person must make certain to avoid violating any of his school's rules about posting advertisements. Restricted areas, or restrictions against posting advertisements for non-campus organizations on school grounds, or anything of that nature, must be observed, or the poster will potentially get -us- in trouble. (Direct quote from NetDevil.)
Other common sense rules apply, such as keeping things in good taste. Please feel free to scan and post or take pictures of Jumpgate advertising in action.

Yet another potential means of unorthodox marketing directly addresses Jumpgate's #1 problem: visibility.

All interested parties need to do is play Jumpgate in cyber-cafes or similar public venues. If someone asks about the game, describe it.

Larger companies are actively recruiting volunteers to use exactly these tactics to generate hype for their games.
